The Cameron Scitern 1st Annual JDRF Charity Golf Tournament
In My Own Eyes
I started pondering the idea of hosting my own charity golf tournament for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation this past summer. I came up with the idea when I was on an airplane coming back from New York after competing in the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier, just staring into the clouds thinking and realizing how lucky I was to have wonderful parents who care, and just to be a healthy young man. While up in the air I said to myself I want to do something to give back to other people and to help continue the research of juvenile diabetes. Many people in this world don't realize how fortunate they are to be able to wake up every morning and just be happy they are walking with a healthy body on top of their feet. I myself am one of those people who didn't realize how lucky I really am until this past summer. Realizing this made me decide helping other people was something that I wanted to do in my life. One of my main goals of hosting this charity golf tournament is to raise money for JDRF, in which these people fight daily to make sick kids live as normal a life as they possibly can. Most importantly I want people to realize that there are more important things in life than themselves and hopefully I will motivate others to do the same thing.
